The City of Laurinburg has designated the Downtown Laurinburg Social District to allow citizens to enjoy alcoholic beverages in its growing downtown area.

What is a Social District?

A social district is a specific area in which alcoholic beverages are allowed to be carried in open containers on the street.

Consumer Rules

Alcoholic beverages may be consumed in the Social District from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM Monday – Saturday, and 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Sunday.

No outside alcohol is permitted within the district. All alcoholic beverages must be purchased from licensed establishments located within or contiguous to the district and must be consumed within the District.

Drinks must be consumed from the official “Downtown Laurinburg Social District” cup received at drink purchase location.

Upon leaving an establishment where an alcoholic beverage is purchased, the beverage must be consumed or discarded before entering a different business that serves alcohol.

All alcohol in open containers must be disposed of before exiting the District or entering a vehicle.

Laurinburg is located on US Highway 74, a major east-west four-lane highway, US Highway 401, a major north-south four-lane highway, and minutes away from Interstate 95 which runs from Maine to Florida. Downtown Laurinburg is just 43 miles from Fayetteville and Fort Bragg, in the heart of North Carolina.
